Rewild Connection is an emerging initiative exploring how structured time in nature, consistent daily rhythm, and relational community environments can support healing and development for foster youth.

We are in the process of designing a model that integrates environment, routine, and therapeutic support into a cohesive system of care.

Pillars of Care

  • Structured Daily Rhythm, Seasonal Flow

  • Nature-Based Environments

  • Trauma-Informed Support

  • Skill & Responsibility Development

  • Adventure, Movement, Play

  • Rest & Integration

Evidence-Informed Approach

Reduced anxiety and depression

Exposure to natural environments has been consistently linked to lower levels of anxiety, depression, and overall psychological stress.

Improved emotional regulation in youth

Time in green spaces is associated with improved attention, reduced hyperactivity, and stronger emotional regulation in children and adolescents.

Access to nature may be especially beneficial for youth in high-stress or underserved environments.

Findings are drawn from peer-reviewed research in environmental health, developmental psychology, and youth outcomes.

Movement supports mental health

Regular physical activity, including practices like yoga, has been shown to reduce anxiety and improve emotional regulation.

Body-based approaches support healing

Somatic and body-based practices are increasingly recognized as important components of trauma-informed care.

Foster youth systems often provide essential housing and services but can struggle to consistently offer environments that support emotional regulation, relational stability, and long-term developmental healing.

Rewild connection explores what becomes possible when environment itself is part of the intervention.

Help Bring This Model To Life

Rewild Connection is in its early stages of development. We are actively building partnerships, refining the model, and working to bring this vision into reality.

If you feel aligned with this work, there are several ways to get involved.
